An Introduction to Sugar Craft
One Day Workshop
A chance to learn the beautiful art of Sugar craft. By the end of the day you will be able to make full roses, rose buds and leaves, how to wire them, dust them and turn them into a magnificent spray to adorn any cake.
Janice Cooke celebrated medal winner will teach you the techniques and tricks of the trade.
The day includes lunch, refreshments and all materials, everything you will need to take home a beautiful spray of roses. Limited to 8 places so book early to avoid missing out. £65 all materials and lunch included.

Giovanni Butto was born in Sicily and his passion for food has taken him all over the world. He spent seven years working for the Aga Khan in Sardignia before coming to England in 1969. He ran his own restaurant in Birmingham which was featured in the Good Food Guide for 10 years and his celebrity clients include Cliff Richard, Dudley Moore, Wendy Craig, June Whitfield, Lenny Henry and Don Maclean who still remains a good friend.
Giovanni is now semi retired and is still keen to share his passion for great Italian food. Merlewood House is lucky enough to have secured Giovanni for One Day Italian Cooking Experiences so that you can learn to do it the real italian way.
The One day course includes lunch, a chance to watch and see a master at work and then make your own real pasta a complete dish. You will leave with a host of recipes and a dish to take home for the family. With a maximum of five on each course, you will get personal attention. Hand Reflexology
This one day course for qualified reflexologists will improve and increase your knowledge of Hand Reflexology. Whilst most of us covered it during training, many people do not use it. This workshop removes any confusion and will increase your confidence in using it as an alternative to feet.
Baby Reflexology
This course for qualified Reflexologists will teach the techniques of working with babies and toddlers which is a different method to working on adults. Wendy and Penny Odham are two of the three master trainers in the country who are approved by Jenny Lee the founder of the technique. The two day course covers Babies on day one and toddlers on day two. You can do the course as two separate days or as one complete course according to your budget. This is a tried and tested two day workshops that will give you a structure for planning your presentation or speech and the skills and confidence you need to delivery it with style and panache. A great evening not to be missed’
From the team who created the award winning film ‘Feis’, a new comedy drama fresh from Brighton Festival Fringe.
What would Helen Mirren do? For starters she wouldn’t spend her life on checkouts at the supermarket in Oldham. She’d know how to spread her wings and fly. And on her way she’d sort out Steve, the supermarket boss with his dodgy ‘hands on’ method of management. When Susan is trained for an unexpected promotion, she is forced to adopt a role model, and in a panic she picks on Helen Mirren. But once she starts seeing life through Helen’s eyes, there’s no going back to sitting on Baskets Only.

One day first aid course
This one day course will update your skills and renew your First Aid qualification which should be refreshed every three years.
Two day foot reading workshop with Jane Sheehan
We are delighted to have author and Reflexologist Jane Sheehan who specialises in Reading the Feet coming to torquay to share her skills knowledge and expertise. Jane has appeared on TV several times and has read the feet of some amazing people. The course is split in Theory and Practical, so both days are recommended.
Using Reflexology with family and friends
The course held over two weekends will give you the information you need to be able to work on a very basic level with family and friends. This course is not sufficient to enable you to work as a qualified reflexologist. Covering the basics of anatomy and physiology in a simple way you will have a greater understanding of how your body works and what is needed to thrive. Following this course you may decide to go on and study further to become a qualified reflexologist.

In this introductory workshop to theTransform your Life series of workshops, you will be looking at "who you think you are". You will be working with your inner child and your belief system. By simply becoming aware of our beliefs about ourselves that we have taken on from childhood, you will start to recognise how you have attracted and manifested the life you now have.
A truly revealing day where you will begin to recognise your patterns, and how you limit your potential, opportunities and possibilities. I will be guiding you throughout this wonderfully playful day with insightful colouring/drawing exercises, guided visualisations, fairy stories, angel and guidance cards.
